Kid Peer Support
Connecting and talking with others about your thoughts and feelings is critical, especially when you are a kid facing a challenging time in your life. We know that when it comes to navigating family dynamics of separation/divorce, it can be difficult at times for children to communicate their feelings. Data has shown historically that children navigating divorced/separated households can be at risk for behavioral health problems, face challenges in navigating friendship, and be at risk for lower school performance. However, we also know that kids are incredibly resilient and courageous. Consequently, we feel it is critical to create safe and confidential space for kids to share their thoughts and make connections with others who are going through similar life changes. We all thrive and feel less lonely when we can share in common life experiences with others.
All groups are facilitated by board certified pediatrician, Dr. Madeleine Gagnon.
